Parking Boss is Bringing Better Multifamily Parking Solutions to Apartmentalize Conference in Denver

EVERETT, WA - Parking is a common challenge at multifamily communities. While there is a push in new development to minimize parking, in reality, it is an amenity many renters still want. However, it can be difficult to control without the right parking management system and enforcement in place. Parking Boss combines software and materials to help community and portfolio managers turn parking into a positive asset and amenity.

NMHC’s 2017 Renter Preferences Report, conducted in partnership with Kingsley Associates, shows that 94% of those surveyed said they still owned a car and 39% had two or more. Although there is a rise in the number of renters looking to live near and use public transportation (eg “walkability”), 71% noted that they wouldn’t move into a community that didn’t offer parking.

With many residents owning too many cars and overstaying guests, it’s important to track each vehicle and who it belongs to. There are several things managers can do to control parking:

  • -Use cloud-based software to track vehicles by license plate
  • -Charge residents for premium reserved spaces for additional revenue
  • -Organize guest parking spaces into groups or zones for easier enforcement
  • -Provide residents with trackable decals to limit allowed vehicles
  • -Use different-colored decals to separate types of spaces or garages

“We are a 504-unit apartment community, so tracking vehicles without some sort of system in place is almost impossible,” said senior property manager Rachel. “With Parking Boss, we know exactly what vehicles are parked on our lot at all times. We can even track guest vehicles.”

Parking Boss will share their solutions at the Apartmentalize tradeshow. New product highlights include paid guest parking for additional parking revenue opportunities in private lots, and customized interactive parking maps to easily monitor assigned parking spaces.

The Apartmentalize show runs June 26th–28th at the Denver Convention Center and is the largest apartment event of the year. Parking Boss will be exhibiting in booth 704. Attending will be Co-Founders Joel DuChesne and Nathan LeMesurier as well as Regional Account Manager Caitlin Birkenbuel and Marketing Manager Leah Griffiths.
