Brent Sobol is President of Sobol Realty, Inc., an owner and operator of multifamily real estate in Atlanta, Georgia and also founder of Happy Home Communities, a nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of crime free multifamily housing.   Brent has been an owner / operator since 1995, directly overseeing the repositioning of 12 distressed apartment communities.   Sobol is a frequent contributor to UNITS Magazine on crime prevention and author of the award winning article on crime Prevention ’10 Steps to Suppress Crime in Apartments. Via an interactive "show & tell" at the NAA 2011 Education Conference, Sobol shared his tips and techniques for successful management of crime issues in high crime apartment communities that he’s personally repositioned. Through a process he calls the Turnaround Template, he systematically repositions apartment communities and takes them from unhealthy to award winning; addressing the crime and community safety component is often his #1 priority on takeover day.  A two time NAA Paragon Award winner, Mr. Sobol was also named the 2009 Citizen of the Year by the Atlanta Police Department for his efforts to reduce crime in apartment communities.  Sobol consults with apartment owners that have crime problems.

Officer Tim VanJohnson is a 24 year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department, with the last 12 years serving as a full time S.W.A.T (Special Weapons and Tactics) officer.   He has had extensive experience with the Atlanta Police P.A.C.E unit (Police and Community Empowerment) listening and responding to the needs of the community by creating specialized enforcement details in the areas of prostitution, drug enforcement, and auto thefts.  He has over 3000 hours in specialized law enforcement training and educates other police officers on specialized aspects of law enforcement.  Officer VanJohnson has a special appreciation for the property management profession as his wife Kimberly is a professional apartment manager in Atlanta with over 14 years experience.
