ATLANTA, GA - Audubon Communities, an Atlanta-based firm specializing in the acquisition, repositioning and management of multifamily properties throughout the Southeast, has completed construction on Phase Two at the Westpark Club, breaking a decade-long drought in construction of new market-rate apartments in Athens.
Construction of the second phase of the Class A community began in March 2017 and included the ground-up construction of 108 one- and two-bedroom units surrounding a one-acre park. Phase Two units feature modern kitchens with shaker cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances as well as high-end vinyl plank flooring throughout the living areas.
“This was an especially exciting project for us, as it was the first time Audubon had taken on a project involving ground up construction of apartments” said Chris Edwards, managing director of Audubon Communities. “We knew there was a lapse in the market for new market-rate units and are pleased to say that we are already 75 percent preleased.”
Audubon invested significant funds in upgrades to the leasing office and amenities to align with the new construction of Phase Two. Improvements to the existing amenities included the expansion of the fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, modernizing the resident lounge and the addition of a pavilion with new grills and furniture surrounding the pool deck.
