Stantec Leads Interior Design for Las Olas Walk Residences in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

MIAMI, FL  Global architecture and design firm Stantec was selected by luxury multifamily real estate developer, ZOM Living, to spearhead the interior design of Las Olas Walk, a two-building, 456-unit residential development located at 106 S. Federal Highway and 200 S. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The eight-story towers located on the north and south side of S. Federal Highway, pay homage to coastal Mediterranean villages. With direct canal access, Stantec creatively implemented the design aesthetic found throughout the property into the interior atmosphere.

“It was important for us that the interior and amenity spaces mirrored the peaceful exterior,” said Susan LaFleur, principal and director of hospitality and residential interiors at Stantec Miami. “To accomplish this we used clean, natural materials like wood, neutral stucco colors and modern furnishings and art throughout the space to update the Mediterranean look that inspired the building’s façade.”

The nature-inspired retreat by the water is set to offer residents all the modern amenities to be expected of an upscale apartment community in an urban setting, and will even offer residents access to a boathouse with kayak and stand up paddleboard rentals to take full advantage of the location.

A retail-inspired North Tower boasts a continuous glass façade storefront system that creates an inviting atmosphere from the ground level with matte black metal frames and unexpected pops of deep reds and oranges in an otherwise neutral space. The 329-unit North Tower also features a lobby, designed as a concierge lounge for residents, as well as a pool, fitness center and dog run.

The 127-unit South Tower, designed with the avid worker in mind, features a co-working space on the ground level with wooden work ‘pods,’ modern Danish lounge furniture, a coffee bar, and bleacher seating to create a variety of experiences for those utilizing the space.

The South Tower’s 20,000 sf eighth-floor rooftop offers views of the New River, Downtown Fort Lauderdale and the beaches and includes an intimate pool adjacent to spa treatment rooms.

Las Olas Walk is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2019.
