MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Timberland Partners, a privately-owned real estate investment, development and management firm, announced today that it has appointed Mary Kahl as Senior Vice President of Property Management, Dan Hoiby as Chief Financial Officer and Andrea Brown as Controller. They will be based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.

Mary Kahl joined Timberland Partners in 2009 as a Regional Manager before being promoted to the level of Regional Vice President. In her newly created role as Senior Vice President of Property Management, Mary will be dedicated to growing and developing operations by focusing on automating processes and implementing career pathing to be prepared to meet the anticipated growth objectives for the firm. She brings nearly 30 years of industry experience, holding leadership positions with firms such as GOLDMARK, Insignia, AIMCO, Dominium and Village Green in the areas of new construction, market rate and tax credit communities for both public and private REITS. Mary holds a degree in marketing from Dakota County AVTI, is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association and previously served on the board of the Greater Miami Apartment Association.
Dan Hoiby has been with the firm since 2002, initially in the role of Controller before being promoted to Vice President of Accounting Services in 2009. In the newly created role of Chief Financial Officer, he will be responsible for establishing company-wide objectives, procedures and practices to optimize the company's financial performance. He oversees all accounting and financial reporting, lender servicing and auditing and manages the banking, CPA and tax relationships as well as insurance and claims processes. During his tenure, Dan has managed the financial aspects of the company’s growth from 2,000 to over 12,000 units. He was previously with a public accounting firm, where he earned his CPA designation as a Senior Accountant, specializing in manufacturing, construction and real estate. Dan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Cloud State University.
Andrea Brown launched her career with Timberland Partners in January 2002 as a Staff Accountant and has held ever-growing roles for the past 16 years as Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, and now as Controller. In her role, she will oversee the Accounting Department and manage overall corporate accounting to meet the demands of an ever growing portfolio. In addition to property accounting, she has managed payroll and been intricately involved with employee benefits. Andrea received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
