KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – On the heels of closing its second largest transaction in the company’s history, Morgan Properties, one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing real estate investment and management companies, announced today it has surpassed 1,000 employees, a major milestone for the 30-year-old business. To date, Morgan Properties employs 1,088 people across its 150 apartment communities in 10 states, a gain of 149 new employees since this time last year.
“Our employees are our biggest asset, and we pride ourselves in being a family organization that is small enough to recognize each individual employee, yet large enough to offer the competitive benefits one would find at a much larger organization,” said Jonathan Morgan, president of Morgan Properties JV Management. “We are celebrating this milestone, and look forward to further enhancing our strong company culture through hiring, developing, and retaining highly-skilled individuals that provide amazing customer service to our residents.”
Paired with a steady stream of completed acquisitions over the past year, Morgan Properties’ recent acquisition of the Mark Center Portfolio in Alexandria, Virginia allowed the company to expand its talent pool significantly, especially in the Greater Washington DC Metro area. Over the last five years, Morgan Properties’ portfolio holdings in the Maryland-DC Corridor have grown from 4,300 units to 24,000, creating a need for new hires to support onsite property operations in this region. The company has also expanded its corporate office support team and is continuing to add positions in accounting, information technology, human resources, asset management, and facilities to support the company’s recent growth. To best train the new influx of employees, Morgan Properties has a dedicated training department that delivers both on-site and off-site programs across the many regions it operates in. The company also provides support through its Morgan Mentors Program—certified site level team members who assist the training department.
“Reaching over 1,000 employees represents a huge achievement for us as an organization as we continue on our path of rapid growth,” said Krista Reynolds, vice president of human resources. “It opens up a variety of opportunities for new and current employees, provides us with the scale and flexibility to enter new markets, and most importantly, gives us the chance to share our recent successes with our dedicated employees and all of the incredible communities we operate within.”
In April, Philly.com named Morgan Properties a best place to work for the fourth consecutive year. Morgan Properties is proud to be the management company of choice, and continues to nurture an environment of team building where each person is vital in supporting their coworkers' efforts to deliver residents an outstanding living experience. Employees at Morgan Properties say that they love their jobs because they have a sense of purpose in helping people to find their home, they value their interactions with the residents, there are an abundance of growth and career advancement opportunities, and ideas and hard work are appreciated by upper management. The company offers competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits program, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, and training opportunities for employees including an internship program, property manager trainee program, and professional development programs.
Morgan Properties currently has many positions open in various locations. Those looking to jumpstart their career in a competitive workplace and join one of the nation’s largest multifamily owners/operators at a time of rapid growth can visit Morgan Properties’ career page.
