SEATTLE, WA - Knock, a Seattle-based startup that provides a communication and customer service platform for apartments buildings, today announced its cross-country Knockstar Tour. On September 18, Knock Co-Founder Demetri Themelis will be begin a two-month, 14-city, 7,000-mile road trip to meet with multi-family property managers.
“Everything we’ve accomplished as a company has resulted from listening to our customers and building what they need,” said Demetri Themelis, co-founder of Knock. “We’ve become kind of addicted to their feedback, it’s like a trail of delicious breadcrumbs leading us closer and closer to our goals. So we said, screw waiting around for more feedback to trickle in via email and survey, let’s hit the road and get more. We’re stoked.”
While Homeownership rates are still low, multi-family development has rebounded to the highest levels since 2000, leading to more apartment-hunters and more time needed to communicate with them. Knock has developed a platform that allows its customers get back to leads faster, and also communicate better with residents. This leads to better leasing outcomes, and happier residents.
“The best companies in the world start with understanding the customer, and work their way backwards to the product,” said Tom Petry, CEO and head of product for Knock. “We’ve learned a tremendous amount, and it shows in our growth and industry recognition. We learn something new with every conversation we have, which is really fun. But there is still a ton of work to do, and that’s what this road trip is all about - keeping the focus on solving customer problems, and to do what nobody else has been able to do for this industry.”
Knock’s mission is to become the platform of choice for property management companies to manage their marketing, communications, CRM and customer service. The centralized, easy-to-use platform includes tools that optimize response times, which is the number one driver of leasing performance and quality customer service. Knock works with many of the top property management companies in the nation, such as Pinnacle, UDR, Milestone and Greystar. The platform integrates with other key players in the multi-family property management ecosystem, including Yardi, RealPage, Entrata and ResMan.
“We are constantly being pitched on the latest and greatest technology and one-off tools for managing our properties,” said Trevor Park, Regional Marketing Director at Pinnacle. “Knock has become a business solution that easily combines all of the moving pieces needed for a fast-paced and highly effective sales process.”
