RMK Management Begins Pre-Leasing at 1620 Central Luxury Apartment Community in Evanston, Illinois

CHICAGO, IL - RMK Management Corp., one of the Chicago area’s largest market-rate apartment management firms, announced pre-leasing is underway at 1620 Central, a new 47-unit luxury rental development at 1620 Central St. in Evanston, Ill. The four-story building is currently 25 percent leased, with one model apartment scheduled to open in June 2017. First move-ins will also be welcomed in June.

“We know Evanston’s vibrant Central Street corridor well and have seen it grow exponentially in popularity,” said Anthony Rossi Sr., CEO of RMK Management. “The combination of a convenient location and luxurious interiors at 1620 is extremely appealing in this neighborhood. The development is attracting a broad spectrum of renters — from downsizers and busy professionals to young families.”

1620 Central will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, each with private outdoor space. Residences will measure 601 to 1,297 square feet and include stylish finishes such as 9-foot ceilings, quartz countertops, a key fob entry system, luxury plank flooring, modern cabinets and high-end plumbing fixtures.

Residents at the centrally located community will receive a Metra or CTA pass valued at $150 per month (available until spring 2018), as well as a one-year pass for a Divvy bike share, which can be used at the Divvy station just two blocks from the building (available until spring 2020). And, property ownership is leading a push to add car-share vehicle stations within a block of 1620 Central.

“By taking advantage of our attractive transportation incentives, residents can save up to $1,755 annually,” said Rossi. “Evanston is a progressive, green-minded suburb. We’re offering a way to make people’s lives easier while they skip driving and go easy on the environment.”

Designed to achieve LEED® Silver certification, the project features sustainable elements including a green roof, energy-efficient fixtures and environmentally conscious design.

Building amenities include elevators, a spacious bike storage room, an electronic package management system, and Pressbox, a 24/7 on-demand dry cleaning service.

“The aesthetic charm of this neighborhood is a tremendous amenity in its own right,” said Rossi. “Residents at 1620 will be steps from the fine dining and lively entertainment options Evanston has to offer while the nearby transportation hub makes it easy to reach downtown Chicago and the North Shore suburbs. And, of course, you have the lakefront just 1 mile away.”

The Central Street neighborhood combines “an edgy urban vibe with a small-town pace and sensibility,” according to the American Planning Association, which recently named it one of its Great Places in America. Residents of 1620 Central will enjoy an abundance of shopping and restaurant options right down the street and just two miles to the south in downtown Evanston. The building also offers proximity to Evanston Arts Center and is located directly across from Northwestern University’s Ryan Field.

Assigned parking will be available in a 54-stall, climate-controlled underground garage which will include several electric vehicle charging stations.

1620 Central was developed by TJM Development, Inc. of Chicago and Colorado-based Real Capital Solutions, Inc. First National Bank provided financing for the project.

Pre-leasing is taking place down the block at the RMK-managed Central Station located at 1720 Central St. For more information, visit www.1620Central.com or call 847-424-0199.
