Virtual Doorman Launches Innovative Smartphone App To Put Doorman in Every Resident’s Pocket

NEW YORK, NYVirtual Doorman, a New York-based provider of remote doorman and security services, announced today the launch of its latest innovation—an enhanced mobile app that allows residents to access services directly from their smartphones. Virtual Doorman is currently in action in more than 200 properties in the New York City area, serving thousands of rental apartments, cooperatives, condominiums and townhomes. Virtual Doorman performs nearly all the duties of a traditional doorman at a fraction of the cost—and without the worry of a holiday tip.

The announcement was made by Colin Foster, President of security solutions provider Virtual Service, the parent company of Virtual Doorman.

The new app, available for iOS and Android devices, allows residents on-the-go access to the ever-growing list of services that sets Virtual Doorman apart—in essence putting their doorman in their pocket and enabling them to manage their lives while on the go. Users can remotely allow visitor and guest access, receive packages and deliveries and view related logs. With one click, residents can also contact building managers from the app, order key fobs, and even contact Virtual Doorman directly to schedule a range of “Red Hat” concierge services provided exclusively by Abigail Michaels Concierge.

This is all accomplished with an extremely high level of personalization and without losing the sense of familiarity and peace of mind that an onsite doorman can provide. Resident calls to the Virtual Doorman Command Center are connected to dedicated operators they have previously spoken with, helping build continuity and rapport. Dedicated Command Center workers taking the calls are highly-trained, articulate, knowledgeable and friendly and able to help tailor the Virtual Doorman experience to fit the needs of their busy, urban clients.

“The launch of this app comes following a significant investment of time, money and energy and reflects our commitment to constantly adding services and convenience for our Virtual Doorman clients,” said Mr. Foster. “We’ll continue to increase our suite of services and look forward to developing new ways to make amenities associated with modern, urban living available to more people.”

At a fraction of the cost, Virtual Doorman provides many of the services typically associated with a traditional doorman for buildings of between one and 150 residences. By combining video security, electronic access control and alarm monitoring, buildings and their residents are afforded the dual benefits of heightened security and modern amenities.

Virtual Doorman is currently on duty at more than 200 buildings across the New York tristate region and is expanding in major markets across the country, with numerous national projects in the pipeline.
