First Coast Apartment Association Launches Annual Canned Food Drive to Help Knock Out Hunger

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The First Coast Apartment Association (FCAA) has kicked off their annual canned food drive to help knock out hunger in Northeast Florida.

“We believe that what we do every day matters. As an industry we strive to make a positive impact in the community and our food drive is a natural fit,” said Holly Fox of Fancy Fox Designs, FCAA board member and co-chair for the drive.

Collection boxes are being set up in apartment communities and offices to collect canned food for the Clara White Mission. Residents are encouraged to contribute to this worthy cause as well as associate members.

“The apartment association’s canned food drive is a great example of stepping up to serve their community. Hunger is a reality for some, everyday, not just in our most challenged communities,” notes Clara White Mission, CEO/President, Ju’Coby Pittman. “The apartment industry should be proud of this drive.”

FCAA volunteers will pick up donations Nov. 18 - 20. Cans will be delivered to the Clara White Mission on Nov. 21.

“We encourage all FCAA members to participate in this exciting and important community project. This is a simple but effective way to make a difference in fighting hunger here at home,” said co-chair Shannon Gregory, regional director at WRH Realty Services.

Founded in 1979, the FCAA serves the apartment industry in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam, and Nassau Counties.  FCAA’s mission is to promote, inform and serve the apartment industry through education, legislation, and professional networking.
