Two from First Coast Apartment Association headed to National Maintenance Mania Competition in Denver

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The First Coast Apartment Association (FCAA) has two competitors in the upcoming Maintenance Mania National Competition at the 2014 National Apartment Association Education Conference & Exposition.

Jimmy Garcia of Avistele of Ponte Vedra and Renaissance Property Group, and Kyle Slagle with Addison Landing Apartments and WRH Realty Services will compete on June 20 in Denver.

The event consists of several skill-based games based on common maintenance activities and a race car competition. All games are timed to determine the fastest competitor in each game and overall.

Earlier this year FCAA spotlighted property maintenance technicians in local Maintenance Mania competition at the University of North Florida University Center.

Racing against the clock over 100 participants competed in eight maintenance-focused challenges. Representing local apartment communities they tested their maintenance skills and knowledge of the apartment industry.

FCAA has two of the available 20 spots in this national competition. This is Garcia’s third and Slagle’s first time going to nationals.

Founded in 1979, the FCAA serves the apartment industry in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam, and Nassau Counties.  FCAA’s mission is to promote, inform and serve the apartment industry through education, legislation, and professional networking.
