Halstead Management Company Draws on Top Leadership to Form New Executive Advisory Board

NEW YORK, NY - Halstead Management Company, LLC, one of New York’s most trusted residential property management firms, has brought together its top leadership to form an official Executive Advisory Board to advise on all company matters.  Committed to providing superior management expertise, Halstead is drawing on the wealth of knowledge and unrivaled, combined experience of its senior professionals—all who held ownership stakes in management firms—to raise the bar on the quality of service the firm provides. Arthur W. Zeckendorf, David Burris, William Lie Zeckendorf and Kent Swig, Co-Chairmen of Terra Holdings, Halstead’s parent company, announced the formation of the Advisory Board.

A “brain trust” of real estate experts, the five-member Executive Advisory Board will be led by Halstead Management Company’s President, Paul Gottsegen, along with Executive Vice President Sherry Frankel, Managing Director/Vice President Martha Goupit, Executive Vice President Ronni Lynn Hart, and Managing Director/Vice President Leslie Winkler. The Board will meet regularly to review and create strategic and tailored solutions for each property under management, and set new company-wide goals.

“When we founded Halstead Management Company, we envisioned not just growing the company through acquisitions, but also engaging the successful and talented principals and executives of these firms to create a diverse environment with breadth of specialties in all areas of property management,” said Mr. Burris. “What we have accomplished with this Executive Advisory Board is the ability to offer New York City properties an unrivaled level of service, thoughtfulness and expertise that is only possible when you bring some of the best real estate minds together in one room.”

The Halstead Management Company leadership that forms the Executive Advisory Board includes:

Paul Gottsegen: A 25-year veteran in the residential real estate industry, Mr. Gottsegen serves as President of Halstead Management Company, and is an expert in all facets of the business including rental, cooperative and condominium management. Joining Halstead 12 years ago to help launch its property management company, Mr. Gottsegen draws on his experience as an owner and CEO of Soren Management, Inc., as well as a managing director at Insignia Residential Group. As president of the firm, he oversees all of the firm’s and advisory board initiatives.

With over 34-years of experience in the real estate industry, Sherry Frankel opted to merge her management firm, Caran Properties with Halstead in 2011. With the opportunity to draw on the deep resources available at Halstead, Ms. Frankel continues to deal in all areas of property management with an additional focus on asset management. Her network of institutional and private investors are regularly calling on her and Halstead to manage the assets they acquire in this heated multifamily investment market.

Previously partners with Sherry Frankel at Caran Properties, Martha Goupit brings over two decades of experience to her role at Halstead Management Company. In addition to her oversight of personally managed properties, Ms. Goupit works in daily partnership with Leslie Winkler and Paul Gottsegen to integrate the collective companies, maximizing their inherent strengths to deliver superior service to their clients. Ms. Goupit assists with employee relations and development to maintain a high standard of expertise among the company’s management executives and support staff. Her strength in assisting residential Owners and Boards in identifying their financial objectives, and implementing preventative and ongoing maintenance to simultaneously manage these goals, lays tribute to her successful alliance with her Halstead management team and their clients.

Ronni Arougheti Hart, an attorney specializing in real estate law and finance, was the founder of Heron Ltd., a NYC residential and commercial property management firm that merged into Halstead in 2004. She has an expertise in all areas of property management and brokerage both residential and commercial. She served on the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and was awarded REBNY’s first Residential Management Executive of the Year Award. She brings broad experience, real estate knowledge and outstanding negotiating and problem solving skills for the benefit of Halstead clients. She was an Adjunct professor in the New York University Real Estate Institute and has been regularly quoted in The New York Times.

With nearly four decades of management experience in all areas of residential property management, Leslie Winkler is a tremendous asset in her role as a Managing Director/Vice President.  Over the years she has created a niche within the industry, working and certifying budgets for new development offering plans. In addition to traditional property management, she is one of the most sought after experts for preparing first year operating budgets for newly constructed and/or converted properties.
According to Mr. Gottsegen, the Executive Advisory Board will grow in the future as Halstead Management continues to grow. “We have room at the top for professionals to make significant leadership contributions,” he said. “Halstead Management is the only company building a collective talent of leadership to inform our delivery of service and maintain our edge of excellence. We are delighted to formalize this intent with the creation of the Executive Advisory Board and set a new standard for outstanding service in property management from the top down.”
