BALTIMORE, MD — Liberty Harbor East, a landmark multifamily community within Baltimore’s vibrant Harbor East neighborhood, will welcome its first residents this July following a strong apartment pre-leasing that began in April of 2019. Community response has been overwhelmingly successful with 35 leases signed during Liberty’s record-breaking opening weekend and 107 signed to date.

This two-story 3-bedroom penthouse loft with den includes 4,500-square-feet of living space and a more than 1,000-square-foot outdoor terrace with exclusive harbor views.

To better serve its residents, Liberty Harbor East’s 282 apartments and 33 condominiums will deliver simultaneously this July. The new 50,000 square foot Whole Foods Market will open in early 2020 and occupy the street level of Liberty. The flagship store will feature cafe seating and outdoor patios on the second floor. Developed by Harbor East Management Group with Bozzuto serving as co-developer, general contractor and property manager, Liberty embodies the best of Baltimore with its vibrant personality, industrious history, and pioneering spirit.

With a design that pays tribute to the history of the harbor, Liberty Harbor East delivers an extraordinary experience that feels both authentic and modern. The “Liberty” name is inspired by Liberty Paterakis, the daughter of Baltimore’s H&S Bakery founder Isadore “Steve” Paterakis and sister of the late John Paterakis, who developed Harbor East. Built upon the foundation of the historic Bethlehem’s Steel’s Fairfield Yard, famed for their production of the legendary Liberty Ships in World War II, Liberty’s façade and structure are reminiscent of ocean waves or sailboats running under full sail. The apartment lobby includes nautical-inspired elements including wooden ship knobs and a magnificent rope art installation strategically located behind the concierge desk.

While still inspired by the harbor, the design of the condominium lobby also resembles a sleek modern yacht with fresh metal tones, a light airy vibe and a stunning Bocci chandelier spanning the two-level space. Condominium residents have access to exclusive amenities including a dedicated entrance and resident front desk concierge with automated package room, and a well-appointed social lounge, communal kitchen and dining area. The 9thfloor reveals a dramatic amenity experience for all residents featuring highly-designed spaces that flow into an expansive pool courtyard overlooking the harbor, flowing seamlessly between interior and exterior spaces. The 30,000 square foot area is a harmonious blend of luxury and ease with hospitality-inspired design. The space features a library and study, lounge and private dining area, and yoga studio and fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment.

The award-winning firm of Hickok Cole Architects created the design. They are joined by Stonehill Taylor, an interior design firm known for their boutique hotel designs, and landscape architectural design firm Mahan Rykiel & Associates.

Harbor East Management Group and Bozzuto broke ground on Liberty in October 2016, topped out in August 2018 and will celebrate its grand opening this Fall.
