NAHB Honors Best Multifamily Marketers, Managers

WASHINGTON, DC - The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) presented the 2011 Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards to the year's best examples of multifamily marketing and individual achievement in property management in an online awards ceremony.

"The work of marketers and property managers is to match residents with communities that meet their needs, and ensure that the residents will enjoy living there," said Charles R. Brindell, Jr., chair of NAHB's Multifamily Leadership Board, and CEO of Mill Creek Residential Trust, LLC. "These 2011 Pillars winners have shown that successful communities are more than beautiful bricks and sticks--they blend great features and outstanding service, and this year's winners carry that message to potential residents in the most creative and friendly ways possible."

Among the nine winners are a hip urban community in North Bethesda, Md., whose interior merchandising spoke clearly to young professionals; a community in Mountain View, Calif., whose leasing center reflects the community's commitment to relaxation and tranquility; and a comprehensive, easy-to-use website that attracts residents to the properties of a West Coast property management firm.

NAHB's Pillars Awards, considered the most prestigious in the industry, honor excellence in multifamily housing development, design, marketing and management, and showcase future trends in the industry.

NAHB will announce its second round of award winners in the developer and firm categories at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Oct. 6, 2011.

The National Association of Home Builders is a Washington-based trade association representing more than 160,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction. NAHB is affiliated with 800 state and local home builders associations around the country. NAHB's builder members will construct about 80 percent of the new housing units projected for this year.
