Held at Pier Sixty of Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, the event was co-hosted by Katie Couric, David Hyde Pierce, Edward Norton and Mel Gibson, who came together in an effort to raise green awareness and its significance during the economic crisis.
Jeffrey Hines received this award as a result of his enduring commitment to sustainability, which is reflected in his leadership with the U.S. Green Building Council and the EPA's ENERGY STAR program. It is his sincere commitment to green living that inspired the creation of the nation's first green real estate development fund with CalPERS, in addition to the development of numerous sustainable offices towers across the country and Greenwich Village's first LEED-certified luxury residential condominium, One Jackson Square.
